High School Football kicks off tonight

Benedictine, who are ranked #10 in the Call and Post’s Northern Ohio High School Football Top 15 poll, takes on hosting Normandy is one of many games that will kick-off the 2014 high school football season.
Bengals running back and University of Florida recruit Jerome Baker is one of the key players that everyone will be watching this year. He is projected to have more 1,500 all-purpose yards and at least 13 touchdowns.
Also on Northeast Ohio’s grid-iron, John F. Kennedy travels to take on “The Big Red” Steunbenville.
In Cincinnati a big rivalry game kicks off their season with Call and Post’s All-Ohio top ranked Cincinnati Colerain takes on hosting La Salle. Colerain Cardinals are coming of a 12-1 2013 season with their only loss to Cincinnati Moeller, the D-I champs. The Cardinals quarterback Spencer Henn is one of the best in Cincinnati. La Salle Lancers had a king of the mountain kind of a season in 2013. They won their first three games, then the lost the rest and not by many points. They lost to Bishop Watterson and Moeller by three points. They also had close losses to St. Xavier and a two-point loss to Elder. The Lancers upsetting the Cardinals will jump start their season.
Other big today in Akron, the two-time state champs St. Vincent – St. Mary will host Akron Garfield. The Irish, ranked third in CP-All Ohio, beat Garfield 63-0 last season.
