These are a tell of two teams that owned the first half of the decade. Mentor Cardinals with it’s three-point shooting ability plus they managed to squeeze out a state title. Shaker Heights had Terry Rozier, who is in the NBA, and Esa Ahmad, who is now starting for West Virginia.

Both teams are battling this year. The Cardinals they are 11-9 overall and 5-7 in the Greater Cleveland Conference. They have rebounded from losing six out of seven with a two-game win streak. Red Raiders head coach Danny Young have won 20 games or more in the last four seasons. He is struggling to get to ten. They are 8-12 and 5-7 in the GCC. Before beating Euclid 85-75 last Saturday, they had lost five in a row. This is the first time that Young had lost that many in a row. The Red Raiders beat Mentor earlier this season 88-87. That was a trying game too. The Red Raiders were behind 48-27 at the half.
