It will be five days before the Ohio State Buckeyes battle the Michigan Wolverines.  My history over the best rivalry in college football history is over 40 years. I will post my top five games each day.

No. 5 – Barrett and Elliott – J.T. Barrett and Ezekiel Elliott accounted for four touchdowns on the ground. Barrett had a passing touchdown as Ohio State, who were ranked No. 6, beat Michigan 42-28 and on their way to the NCAA’s first title.

1993 – Tia Biakabutuka ran for over 300 yards and they beat the unbeaten Buckeyes 31-23.

Ohio State vs. Michigan 1991 – “The Desmond Howard Heisman Trophy Pose”

Howard, a Cleveland product, returned a punt return for 92-yard touchdown. After he scored, he had the historic Heisman Trophy pose in the end zone.

Michigan won 31-3.

 

CSU home opener vs Coppin State

 

The Cleveland State Vikings are seeking their first victory of the 2017-2018 season tonight. The Vikings will host Coppin State at 7 p.m. Dennis Felton, the head coach, is seeking his first coaching victory at CSU.

The Vikings are 0-2 and have not come close to getting a victory in those two games.

The Vikings only shooting just 35 percent from the court and 35 percent from the free throw line.

Kenny Carpenter leads the Vikings with 11 points a game. He is shooting nearly 60 percent from the court. He also leading the Vikings on the boards with nine rebounds a game.

Stefan Kenic is second in scoring with 10.5 points a game.

Senior Bobby Word and sophomore Kasheem Thomas are a combined 3-for-22 (14 percent) and 1-for-15 from three-point arc (.066).

Coppin State Eagles (0-3) are coming off a 97-54 loss to Cincinnati Bearcats last night.

Former NBA Star, Juan Dixon is the coach. He won a national championship with Maryland in 2002.

Cleveland State falls big to Rutgers 70-38

Another poor shooting night for the Cleveland State Vikings basketball team.

The Vikings shot 30 percent from the field in their 70-38 loss to Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

The Vikings, who have dropped their first two games of the season, were led by Stefan Kenic with 12 points on five-of-12 shooting. Kenny Carpenter had 11 points.

For the Scarlet Knights (3-0), they had four starters in double-figures. Geo Baker and Issa Thiam each had 14 points. Corey Sanders had 13 points.

Dennis Felton still is looking for his first coaching victory as the head coach at Cleveland State.

The Vikings is still having trouble finding their range. They were 3-for-22 from behind the arc. They were 3-for-19 against the Akron Zips in their 67-57 loss. They were horrible from the free throw line again. They made only 3-for-11 (27 percent). Against the Zips, they were missed 13 out 19 shots.

In their first two games, the Vikings are 6-for-41 behind the arc (14 percent) and they are 9-for-27 (33) from the free throw line.

The Vikings have their home opener this Friday against Coppin State (0-2).
